Cheryl Gilman provides doula support to women and their families in Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia. An initial consultation is available to meet with you in the privacy of your home. During this time prospective clients may ask questions and communicate their desires and hopes for their childbirth experience. Once services are contracted one to two prenatal appointments are available to assist with writing a birth plan, review comfort measures used during labor, pain medication preferences and when to call for birth doula support. You may contact Cheryl via e-mail or by phone for any questions or concerns during the prenatal period. Cheryl joins the laboring mother once active labor has been established and remains with the mother until one hour post partum. She offers assistance with initial breastfeeding latch, positions and suggestions for recovery.
